Telephone Services are now Available
We are pleased to announce that we are now able to provide more comprehensive telemedicine service solutions. This initiative is made possible through the recent waiving of certain federal restrictions and state-wide exceptions defined in updated policy transmittals due to the state and federal state of emergency brought on by COVID-19. This means that Medicare and Medicaid patients may receive telemedicine care, including those who are in a Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Plan.
What Does That all Mean?
This will allow patients to self-isolate and avoid face-to-face contact while still receiving the care they require. Avoiding face-to-face contact in public and group settings is unanimously recommended by healthcare professionals and organizations. Methods of delivery may now include video conferencing as well as voice chatting via telephone.
The intent of this initiative is to reduce or eliminate direct face-to-face time with the goal of preventing the spread of COVID-19. This is of particular importance to the individuals we serve and the members of their households who are considered to be in a vulnerable population. Members of these vulnerable populations are more susceptible to being critically affected by the illness. Vulnerable populations include, but are not limited to, those who are elderly and those who have underlying medical conditions.
Our Commitment to QUALITY Continues
Of course, this in no way implies a reduction in quality of care. As always, Florida Therapy Services will strive to provide the highest level of care to its clients. The method of delivery is the only factor that changes with the implementation of this initiative.
